Developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls) defines criteria for managing customer data based on five “trust service principles” — security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. A SOC 2 examination provides organizations with a report on an organization’s internal controls and how it protects customer data and sensitive information. It is the standard for data security among digital companies in the U.S.

Through this process, Cognaize demonstrated its adherence to data security, availability, and confidentiality standards developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  With its SOC 2 recognition, Cognaize not only protects the safety of its customers’ data today but demonstrates that it has set the right standards in place for the future.

SOC 2 (Service Organization Control 2) Type 1

The SOC 2 (Service Organization Control 2) Type 1 certification demonstrates our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy for our clients' sensitive information. It is a testament to the rigorous measures we have implemented to protect the data entrusted to us.

As assured in the report, Cognaize's service commitments and system requirements are achieved based on the trust services criteria relevant to Security, Availability, and Confidentiality (applicable trust services criteria) set forth in TSP 100, 2017 Trust Services Criteria for Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy (AICPA, Trust Services Criteria).

This compliance affirms that our existing and future clients can be confident that their data is being handled with the proper security, confidentiality, and privacy controls. We look forward to leveraging this certification to further enhance the trust and satisfaction of our valued clients.

What is SOC 2?

SOC 2 is a standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to assess an organization's information security and privacy controls. It serves as the industry benchmark for companies and products that utilize data storage.

To earn SOC 2 certification, Cognaize completed the following:

  • Assessment of the design and operating effectiveness of Cognaize’s controls
  • Thorough examination of security of vendors and third parties
  • Defined policies to ensure continued protection for customers and employees
Cognaize is excited to be taking this important step to further its data protection practices.
